Board of Directors Meeting

January 9, 2019

 

The meeting, held at Craig Downie‘s (1200), was called to order at 7:30 p.m.

 

Board Members present:  Craig Downie, Tim Schick, Brad Wilson, Petra Raymond and Cate Fulkerson.

 

Minutes

m/ Tim s/Brad The minutes of the November 24, 2018 Board meeting and December 3 annual meeting (subject to approval at the 2019 annual meeting) were approved.

 

2019 officers

m/Tim s/ Cate Craig Downie was re-elected president, Petra Raymond was re-elected Treasurer and Tim Schick was re-elected Secretary. Brad Wilson and Cate Fulkerson will serve as vice presidents.

 

Financial reports

m/ Tim s/ Brad The financial reports for November and December were approved. The Cluster Association ended 2018 in the black, with a $9,722.73 surplus, $2,500 that will be applied to reducing homeowner fees and the balance to be applied to 2019 expenses.

 

Snow Removal Contract

m/Tim s/ Cate The Board approved a contract with Environmental Enhancements for snow plowing.

 

House painting

The Board reviewed the list of houses due for painting in 2019 and discussed methods of informing homeowners.

 

The units due for painting are: 1210, 1212, 1214, 1216, 1219, 1221, 1223, 1225, 1227, 1229, 1231, 1233, 1235, 1237, 1239, 1241, 1240, 1242, 1244, 1246 and 1260.

 

Storm water & streambed rehabilitation project

Cate briefed the Board on steps necessary to get Fairfax County to make the work on the streambed (known officially as Piney Trib @ Lamplighter Way) located behind 1219-1225 a priority.

 

Landscape Master Plan

The board reviewed the 10-year Landscape Master Plan and agreed to contact residents who have previously been involved with its implementation to assist in prioritizing the remaining portions.

 

2019 Priority projects

The board identified landscape work, storm water mitigation, erosion remediation and repair of sidewalks where water pools as the primary areas of focus for the year.

 

Pending Legislation

Cate reviewed pending state legislation that could have an impact on the cluster.

 

The next Board meeting was set for February 6, 2019 at Tim’s house (1223)

 

The meeting adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
