Board of Directors Meeting

Sept. 19, 2018

The meeting, held at Tim Schick‘s (1223), was called to order at 7:30 p.m.

Board Members present: Craig Downie, Tim Schick, Petra Raymond, Brad Wilson and Cate Fulkerson

Minutes

m/ Cate s/Brad The minutes of the July 30, 2018 Board meeting were approved.

Financial reports

m/ Tim s/Brad The financial report for August was approved.

The Board reviewed the cluster’s insurance coverage.

Bylaw Review

Cate discussed her progress on a review of the cluster’s bylaws and governing documents. She said she planned to get a copy of the cluster’s deed of subdivision to add to the cluster’s files.

Annual meeting

The Board agreed to schedule the annual cluster meeting for 7:30 Nov. 14 at Aldrin Elementary School, subject to the availability of the meeting space. [The meeting was subsequently set for Dec. 3]

It was agreed that attendance by officials of Fairfax County would be sought to brief residents on potential streambed rehabilitation on the east side of the cluster. Cate agreed to reach out to neighboring cluster associations.

The board agreed to review a 2019 budget at its October meeting, to have it ready for presentation at the annual meeting.

Landscaping

Brad agreed to determine if a diseased tree at 1244 was on private or common property. Brad also agreed to work with the cluster’s tree contractors to review priorities and needed work.

Agreed to post information regarding exterior painting requirement on the cluster’s website.

The next meeting was set for 7:30 pm Oct. 25 at Tim’s house (1223).

The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
