Board of Directors Meeting

August 23, 2017

The meeting held at Tim Schick’s (1223) was called to order at 7:30 p.m.

Board Members present: Craig Downie, Tim Schick, Bob Dilger, Lee Thompson and Petra Raymond.

Minutes

m/ Bob s/ Craig The Minutes of the July 24 meeting were approved.

Financial Reports

m/Tim s/ Lee The financial report for July was approved.

Curb Painting

Bob reported that curb painting would be scheduled for mid-September.

Landscaping

Lee reported that an exposed utility cable behind 1210 will be buried.

The Board discussed erosion on the hill along Woodbrook Lane. Lee will discuss the problem with the landscape contractor.

The Board discussed replacing a fallen tree behind 1212.

m/ Lee s/ Bob The Board approved spending $824 for purchasing and planting an 8-to-10 foot serviceberry tree.

Lee reported that work behind 1204 was complete.

The board discussed issues related to a tree that was planted two years ago behind 1250, which is not thriving in this location. Lee will discuss the issue with the homeowner and explore with Reston Association on the feasibility of replacing it with a “Green Giant” arborvitae. The existing tree might be able to be relocated to another location. Lee will report his findings along with the potential costs at the September meeting.

Judy discussed possible plantings on the first island where a tree was removed.

The next meeting was scheduled for 7:30 pm Sept. 20 at Tim’s house (1223).

The board discussed scheduling the annual meeting during early November.

m/ Craig s/ Lee The Board went into executive session to discuss a billing issue involving a homeowner. No votes were taken during the executive session.

The meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
