Board of Directors Meeting
June 18, 2014
The meeting, held at Scott Parkin’s (1227), was called to order at 8:00 p.m.
Board Members Present: Bob Dilger, Scott Parkin and Alice Tripp
Board Members Absent: Jason Goldberg and Matt Roland
Guest: Rafi Ahsan
Secretary’s Report: Bob moved tha Board accept the minutes of the regular meeting of May 14, and the minutes of the Exective Sessions of May 21 and May 28, as written. Seconded by Scott. Unanimous.
Treasurer’s Report: Year to date spending versus budget was presented.
Landscaping:
Scott moved that the Board allocate up to $200 to purchase five or six grassy plants to place in the area between 1270 and 1272. Motion seconded by Bob. Unanimous.
Scott moved that we budget $900 for limbing up the trees on the islands, along sidewalks and other areas to protect cars in parking areas and pedestrians from possible harm. Motion seconded by Bob. Passed unanimously.
Bob moved that, with the approval of Reston Association, the Board allocate $700 to remove a dangerously leaning tree behind units 1219-1225. Seconded by Scott and voted unanimously.
Social Committee: Both the recent Cluster Yard Sale and spring picnic were well attended. Thanks to all who participated.
Old Business:
Lighting -Solar lights have been instaled at the entrance sign, along the path to Woodbrook Lane as well as the path out to Wiehle Avenue. It was noted that the life span of the lithium batteries in those lights would be approximately two years and future Boards should be made aware of this.
Recycling bins – The contract has been signed to replace open bins with lidded recycling bins and an e-mail message was sent to homeowners regarding this project.
New Business: None at this time.
