Board of Directors Meeting

August 21, 2012

The meeting, held at Jason Goldberg’s (1274) was called to order at 7:43 p.m.

Members present:  Bob Dilger, Scott Parkin, Matt Roland, Alice Tripp and Jason Goldberg

Guests:  Tim and Naomi Schick

Secretary’s Report – Matt moved, seconded by Scott that the minutes of the July 18th meeting be approved as written.  Unanimous.

Treasurer’s Report -The Treasurer distributed copies of the budget vs. actual to date, as well as an update of the monies in the reserves.

Social Committee – The “back to school” party is set for September 9, rain date Sept. 16.  Jason will notify the community of the plans.

Landscape Committee- Jason moved that a letter be sent to the resident requesting tree work and that we ask the Landscape committee to contact Reston Association to have their arborist take a look at the tree, which is on common property.  Seconded by Matt.  Unanimous.

Bob moved that we contact Kate Davidson to come and look at an area of erosion not on the ten-year plan and offer some suggestions on how to resolve this issue.  Seconded by Matt. Unanimous.

Jason moved, seconded by Matt, that Bob be allowed to plant two more trees behind his building at no cost to the Association.  Unanimous.

Bob moved that the Board accept the Landscape Committee’s report as presented.  Seconded by Scott.  The vote was unanimous.

Old Business:

                Street light by path to Woodbrook Lane – no report at this time

                Environmental issues – Jason will have a supply of biodegradable leaf/yard waste bags available for purchase at cost beginning September 1st.  He is at 1274,  or goldjay@hotmail.com,.  The trash and recycling FAQ’s will be available on the website in the near future.

                Roof Maintenance –no report at this time.

 

New Business:

                Jason moved, seconded by Matt that the new Complaint Form be posted to the website. Approved.

Date and place for next meeting – Tuesday, September 18th, 7:30 p.m., Scott Parkin’s home (1227).
