Board of Directors Meeting

March 29, 2012

The meeting, held at Alice Tripp’s (1239) was called to order at 7:30 p.m.

Board Members Present:  Jason Goldberg, Scott Parkin, Bob Dilger and Alice Tripp

Absent:  Matt Roland

Guest:  Judy Holmes

Secretary’s Report – Scott moved the report from the meeting of February 21, 2012, be accepted as written.   Seconded by Jason.  Unanimous.

Treasurer’s Report – Following discussion of expenses to date and reserve amounts, Bob moved the Treasurer be authorized to move up to $30,000 from the money market account into a 13 month CD; and to reinvest the funds in the 13 month CD when it matures on 7/14/12 in another CD with a maturity of at least 23 months.  Scott seconded the motion.  Unanimous.

Social Committee – Jason will be putting together ideas for a “block” type gathering.  Also, if anyone would like to join the social committee, pleae call Jason at 347-446-8035.

Landscape Committee – Bob moved the Board approve the replacement of the stone steps leading into the community off of Woodbrook Lane ($1,680), approve the proposed landscaping project located on the front and side of 1219 Woodbrook Court with one American Holly plant and one shrub for the front of the building ($2,376.24); approve the proposed landscaping project between 1225-1227 Woodbrook Court ($900); defer action on the remaining porposed landscaping projects until the next meeting of the Board; and request an estimate for improving area #10 and removing and replacing pine trees with American Holly along Wiehle Avenue, per the master plan, for the Board’s consideration at its next meeting.  Total committed by this motion:  $4,764.24.  Motion seconded by Scott.  Unanimous.

Old Business:

Street Light by path to Woodbrook Lane – no report

Environmental Discussion – no report

Party fence/deck stain color oprtions - The subcommittee recommended Behr Valise solid and semi-transparent stain.  Scott moved that Healther Knoll Cluster Association submit a request to the Reston Association to amend the Cluster’s color standards for deck and fence colors to

include Behr brand Valise STC 531 in semi-transparent or solid stain and to permit equivalent matching stain colors from any other manufacturer. Motion seconded by Alice. Unanimous.

(Note:  Reston Association subsequently scheduled consideration of the Cluster’s request to take place on April 24th at 7:00 p.m., 12001 Sunrise Valley Drive.)

New Business Date and time for next meeting:

                Reserves funding – no action at this time

                Noise abatment- no action at this time

Dog Waste and Litter issues - The matters were addressed and we are asking everyone to be responsible.
