Board of Directors Meeting
Sept. 27, 2016
The meeting held at Tim Schick’s (1223)
was called to order at 8:00 p.m.
Board Members present: Craig Downie, Tim Schick, Bob Dilger, Lee Thompson and
Petra Raymond.
Residents

Secretary’s
Report: m/ Tim s/Lee The Board
approved the minutes of the Aug. 31 meeting.
Treasurer’s
Report: m/ Tim s/Lee The Board
approved the monthly financial reports.
Reallocating reserve funds into
segregated bank accounts was discussed. Implementing this idea will be taken up
at a future meeting.
Bob reported on his study of the amount
of money necessary to properly fund the roof and paving reserves. The Board also discussed establishing an
operating reserve and how much money would be necessary and appropriate. The
Board agreed to follow up at the next meeting.
Drainage
Craig reported that the Reston Design
Review Board is reviewing the proposed drainage work between 1233 and 1235.
Path
lighting
m/Tim s/Craig the Board approved the
expenditure of approximately $106 for four solar lights. Two will replace
a broken light on the Wiehle exit path while the
others will be used to improve lighting on the path through the woods to
Woodbrook Lane.
Tree
Pruning
m/Bob s/Tim The Board approved the
expenditure of $2850 to Thrive tree service for tree pruning behind 1219 through
1257. The homeowners will be notified and consulted with prior to the start of
work. This work is part of the erosion control program.
Bob reported on the first of several
bids on erosion control work behind 1219 to 1257. No action was taken pending
additional bids.
Landscaping
Contract
The board reviewed a draft Request For
proposal for a landscape contract that will be put out for bid.
The Board discussed, but took no action
of street paving, curb paving and house painting.
Annual
Meeting
The Board scheduled the annual cluster
meeting for 7 pm Nov. 15 at Buzz Aldrin Elementary School.
Next
meeting: The next regular meeting will be held at 8
p.m. on Nov. 2 Tim’s home (1223).
