Board of Directors Meeting

July 20, 2016

 

The meeting held at Tim Schick’s (1223) was called to order at 8:00 p.m.

 

Board Members Present:  Craig Downie, Tim Schick, Bob Dilger, Lee Thompson and Petra Raymond.

 

Residents present: Maryann McGovern and Doug Raymond.

Secretary’s Report:  m/ Lee s/Bob The board approved the minutes of the June 22 meeting with a correction.

 

Treasurer’s Report: The Board accepted the financial report. Tim moved, seconded by Petra.

 

Petra provided the board with reports on the status of roof and paining reserves along with a report on the paining status of all the cluster residences.

 

The board agreed to discuss communications to residents related to the cluster association’s requirements for exterior painting at the August meeting.

 

Petra provided the board with a report of the status of all the cluster association’s bank accounts.

 

Petra updated the board on the status of cluster association fee payments.

 

Drainage: Craig reported that all the internal cluster contingencies have been resolved related to the proposed drainage work between 1233 and 1235. The homeowner of one of the units has agreed to pay for the portion of related work on his private property. The next steps are to submit an application to the Reston Design Review Board and then begin the work.

 

Reimbursement request: A resident’s request for reimbursement for landscape work on cluster association property that did not have prior board approval failed for lack of a motion.

 

Erosion behind 1219 through 1257: The board agreed to seek professional advice on erosion mitigation.  

 

Landscape priorities for 2016: The board agreed by consensus that landscape projects for the rest of the year would focus on erosion mitigation and emergency tree work.

 

Next meeting:  The next regular meeting will be held at 8 p.m. on Aug 31 Tim’s home (1223).
